The Call (10)
When I got up I ate some coco-puffs and watched my phone ring then I realised that I was getting a phone call from someone so I answered it.
“Hello” I asked.
“Hello Two-bit this is Jayson” Jayson said.
Keith looked at me funny when I picked up the phone.
“Hey buddie” I said.
“Look Two, I’m sorry that I was stubborn and wouldn’t stop the fight I really didn’t know the feeling Jayce had for you other wise I would have stopped the gang from beating up Sal and I didn’t know you had nightmares then I would have stopped the gang” he said.
“It's all cool i’m still not coming home I finally have a family” I said.
“Nick i'm sorry” someone from the background said.
“Who was that” I asked.
“That was Hot-topic” Jayson answered.
“Who was he talking to me or his cousin” I asked again.
“You” he said. Then I walked into the other room.
“Can I talk to him please” I asked.
“Yeah” he said giving him the phone.
“Nick i’m sorry I should have let you stay the night at my house it’s all my fault that your gone i’m so, so sorry” Hot-topic said.
“You should be, because i’m not coming home ever” I said and hung up the phone. I walked back into the kitchen with silent tears rolling down my cheeks. I sat down. At the table.
“Who was that” asked Keith.
“My gang” I angrily answered and walked into the room grabbed some clothes and my makeup and leather jacket and took a shower. I put on my new mickey mouse shirt and leather pants that I used my life saving to get one year ago. I put on my black pair of converse and my make up which was the minimum of mascara eye shadow and eyeliner all black. As soon as I was done I put on my leather jacket and said let's go.
“You're still pissed” he said.
“Yeah I know but I need to get out, I can't sit still for very long” I explained.
“And I need new friends” I added.
“Okay let's head out” he said.
“My mom signed you up for school you’ll start next week on monday” he added.
“Its mainly a soc school tho, how will you manage when you're not even considered a hood here yet” he asked.
“You’ll get jumped a lot by other hoods and soces” he went on.
“I have two thing they don’t have” I said.
“And what that might be” he asked.
“For one a brain for two the element of surprise” I told him
“You are really cocky aren't you” he said
I just stood and stared at him for what seem like an eternity then I glared at him and kept walking. First he showed me a park that had a fountain and a swing set and a playground. Then he showed me an overgrown lot that reminded me of the alleyway that I used to hang out in. there was a car seat for sitting and a junk car. But behind the junk car there wasn’t a cooler sitting behind it with some soda and money for emergencies.
“The gang will be there soon” keith said.
“Gang. is it an organised gang” I asked
“Heck no just some buddies. You know us Kasey's are tough, we are both tied at third on the hood ranking” he said.
“I’ll fight you for it” I teased
“I bet” he acknowledged.
“Just kidding I would fight for first not for third been there done that” I said.
“You’d have to fight my buddie Dallas for it and I guarantee you he will win” he explained
“We’ll see about that” I said
Then we turned behind us and there was a gang of tough looking boys.
